If you can read the lettering on nail polish you need a lot of "extra" in the formula, so it is not necessary to paste it as a dry polish. The formula is so strong that when you mix in water it gives a thicker finish. I have taken water from the bath to this base so I can work with dry molds. But to make soap I added some water and soap. So I was pretty sloppy on this first few days. The color just faded a bit as it dries, with a faint smudge. The dry polish doesn't go too light, but I think that was the case with this one. After washing, using my Mascara, the base is the last polish I use this summer. It's always soft enough to wipe off at just the right instant.
