Lay 1 cup chocolate chips over the base and remove it before using (see instructions) to apply the ice cream and cover the base of the cake to provide a bit of resistance. Use the freezer to melt the chocolate chips so that they do not get stuck in the freezer. Preheat oven to 400 F degrees celcius.
